Just wanted to show you how my Owlet is coming along. Keep in mind it was started less than 48 hours ago! I HEART bulky yarn.

About fridica

I started knitting completely by accident, when I was visiting my parents for a holiday in 2008. On a boring Sunday afternoon, I decided to dig through their stash of books to see if there was anything interesting to take back to my apartment. A knitting manual happened to be one of the books I found. I got curious, my mom immediately dug out her old needles and yarn stash (which she hadn’t used in a decade at least), and in a few minutes we were both casting on - she by memory, I by following the instructions from the book… :) Since I normally prefer learning from books, this was ideal.. I took the book home with me, and very very soon - I was an addict.

    • It also ‘goes’ quickly in the other sense – I’m already on my fourth skein and I’m getting scared I won’t have enough (I bought 8 skeins, as the pattern said…)! Yikes!

  1. Oh, yes, the pleasures of working with bulky yarn :) I’ve knit quite a lot with bulky yarn this winter so now that I’ve started something in sock weight it seems to be taking forever!

  2. p.s. By the end of the evening I got to 31cm, i.e. up to the armholes. I started the first sleeve today! Once you get to that part of the garment, it really makes difference – until now it was just a gigantic swatch in the round. Now it is starting to get sleeves and soon enough it will actually resemble a proper sweater! I am so excited about this project, I think I am going to finish it way before the deadline!
