my corner

This is how things are looking in my little corner spot these days…

Especially at such stressful times, it’s really important to me to have a space that feels cozy, warm, protected and organized according to my logic… It helps keep me calm.

How do you cope with stress? Does space play a role? What does your ‘comfort zone’ look like?

About fridica

I started knitting completely by accident, when I was visiting my parents for a holiday in 2008. On a boring Sunday afternoon, I decided to dig through their stash of books to see if there was anything interesting to take back to my apartment. A knitting manual happened to be one of the books I found. I got curious, my mom immediately dug out her old needles and yarn stash (which she hadn’t used in a decade at least), and in a few minutes we were both casting on - she by memory, I by following the instructions from the book… :) Since I normally prefer learning from books, this was ideal.. I took the book home with me, and very very soon - I was an addict.

    • Ah yes, and with that comes the ultimate excuse for not studying – “I must clean!” :D My flat/room is always at its cleanest when I have exams! :D

  1. I don’t think I ever adequately cope with stress. I just want through the hell of exams, and I ‘managed’ by living in the library for about 13 hours a day, just to minimize the amount of decisions I needed to make.

That being said, one thing I dislike about library studying is that your space is really limited. Even if I manage to find two desks to overspill into, inevitably someone nabs the desk next to me and I have to rearrange my notes to not take up so much space.

Also, I’m a hideous slob on my desk at home, so there simply isn’t any space to put my notes…

  2. Not doing any studying at the moment, but I’ve just set up a ‘crafts corner’ that I am very happy with! It’s the area with the best light (should have done this much sooner!) and now sports my comfy seat and a tray for my coffee cup (no more spills from kicking over if on the floor). Now I just need a resting place for my notes at the right height and I’ll be all set!

    • Oh I dreeeeam of having a space to call nothing but a ‘studio’. I’ve seen so many wonderful ideas, and the very concept of having a room dedicated to encouraging creativity and making crafting a main activity (rather than something secondary, for which a room usually used for something else needs to be cleared up) thrills me! I particularly love Ysolda’s studio, you can see some of it here: oooooh I wish!
