I think I have a bit of an addiction. I have made three Wabbits in about a month and a half.

Oops! I just love knitting this simple, yet impressive, hat! And I love how every version comes out completely different. For this one, I struggled a lot with giving it a name… Nothing appropriate was coming to mind. But then, when I was choosing what to wear with it for the photos, things somehow came together. It’s a lumberjack hat! :)

Lumberjacks need big pockets, to keep, ummm, photos of their girlfriends close while they work.

And they need waaarm earflaps, for when the wind starts howling in the ancient forest.

And they need pompoms, because, uh, hmm, ah… Well, ok, they don’t need pompoms, but let’s say they like them anyway.

Everyone sing along now: I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok…

More photos and pattern modification details here. I hope you have a very positively lumberjacky Monday! :)

About fridica

I started knitting completely by accident, when I was visiting my parents for a holiday in 2008. On a boring Sunday afternoon, I decided to dig through their stash of books to see if there was anything interesting to take back to my apartment. A knitting manual happened to be one of the books I found. I got curious, my mom immediately dug out her old needles and yarn stash (which she hadn’t used in a decade at least), and in a few minutes we were both casting on - she by memory, I by following the instructions from the book… :) Since I normally prefer learning from books, this was ideal.. I took the book home with me, and very very soon - I was an addict.

  1. You are the queen of hats. I think we should crown you with a knitted tiara or something. I had a look at your Ravelry project page and your hats were so beautiful that I had to suppress a desire to cast one on straight away (I have 3 unfinished sweaters on the needles).
