cobblestone

Guys, do you have any idea how long the Cobblestone Pullover has been on my to-do list? Here’s how long: since the time when Ravelry didn’t automatically store a copy of your pattern after you purchased it. Yes! That must be, like, way back in 2009, you’re thinking now. Exactly. So the only copy of the pattern I have is this tattered, crumpled, scribbled-on little print-out.

Well, emboldened by finishing my recent large return-to-knitting-with-a-bang project (more on that in a future post), I’m feeling in the mood for BIG stuff. Like sweaters. For adults. For male adults. (Surely that is the greatest undertaking of them all.) So here I go. The yarn is bought, the stitches cast on, and I’m plunging into this.

Wish me luck!

About fridica

I started knitting completely by accident, when I was visiting my parents for a holiday in 2008. On a boring Sunday afternoon, I decided to dig through their stash of books to see if there was anything interesting to take back to my apartment. A knitting manual happened to be one of the books I found. I got curious, my mom immediately dug out her old needles and yarn stash (which she hadn’t used in a decade at least), and in a few minutes we were both casting on - she by memory, I by following the instructions from the book… :) Since I normally prefer learning from books, this was ideal.. I took the book home with me, and very very soon - I was an addict.

  1. Wow, you’ve been in Ravelry for a while! Not having those old patterns stored in the library is a total bummer. Isn’t it possible to send a request to Ravelry to get them?

BTW, I’m hosting a give away. The prize is a pattern of your choice from Ravelry. You just have to leave a comment on my last post.

  2. Good luck! I’m knitting a male sweater too now, but it’s in thickier yarn than yours. Check gauge once in a while, because ssometimes, when you make BIG stuff, your tension can change.

  3. I was suffering from a lack of knitting mojo as well, and then I cast on a sweater for my Dad. Maybe that is the secret cure for the knitting-blahs: a giant man sweater.

  5. i hope you’re not implying that i should make a copy and save (and file!) patterns I buy on Ravelry – because I assume that one of the advantages of e-shopping is that purchases are “e-stored”… !
very nice looking man’s pattern, i’ll be looking forward to your notes!

    • Haha, no I would never dream of implying that! But it used to be the case, back in the day…. Haha, I never thought I’d refer to 4 years ago as “back in the day”. It’s crazy how quickly this modern world of ours moves!
