soooo

Did Santa bring you any yarn this year? ;)

I had decided last week that Santa really wanted me to have some Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light in the lovely Steel Cut Oats (4214), Prune Mix (4284) and Blueberry Mix (4288) shades.

And now I’m turning it into snowflakes! :)

About fridica

I started knitting completely by accident, when I was visiting my parents for a holiday in 2008. On a boring Sunday afternoon, I decided to dig through their stash of books to see if there was anything interesting to take back to my apartment. A knitting manual happened to be one of the books I found. I got curious, my mom immediately dug out her old needles and yarn stash (which she hadn’t used in a decade at least), and in a few minutes we were both casting on - she by memory, I by following the instructions from the book… :) Since I normally prefer learning from books, this was ideal.. I took the book home with me, and very very soon - I was an addict.

  1. I dare say Santa chose well for you :)

I’ve ordered myself a gift bag of red yarn, but am waiting for it to arrive. And with the current postal problems, who knows when I might get it! I suppose that’s part of the surprise too.

  2. Santa did well by you, I can tell!

I got yarn too, and I’m pretty sure Santa consulted my Ravelry queue to figure out the best things to get me. Very thoughtful :D

    • Hahaha, yes, Santa is cunning that way! Hmmm, is there a way to share your Ravelry queue with people who aren’t on Ravelry? You know, to help Santa out next year… ;)

    • It’s my first time working with it and I have to say I’m adoring it. The colours are goooorgeous, and the yarn is so soft and has the perfect tension… And I have a sneaking suspicion it will block beautifully ;))

  3. Gorgeous!
I must admit that I’m really keen on this yarn (I must not buy any just now! Stash is exploding as is). What size needles are you using? It looks like the yarn/needle combo is making this a very wearable weight.
    The pattern looks wonderful!
    Enjoy.

    • Thank you! I’m using 2.5mm, and they seem to be working perfectly for stranded knitting with this yarn weight. I did my ribbing on 2mm, in a single colour, and that feels lovely too.
